and a member of the Speech & Drama Teachers’ Association of Victoria.
He is also pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy [PhD] in Theater and Performance
at Monash University, Melbourne, Australia
Born in Delhi in 1963, Arjun's qualifications include a BA Arts (Hons) in English Literature from Delhi University (1985)
And an Advanced Diploma in Acting from The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (1987).
Arjun is also a professional Kathakali dancer, trained at the International Centre for Kathakali, Delhi (1990-2010). He has taught Acting, Voice and Speech at
the National School of Drama India (1990-96), and has delivered workshops and performances at MIT, Boston, USA (2004 & 2007),
Kyoto Performing Arts Centre, Japan (2007) and Yale, USA (2004).
In 2001, he established the Voice and Accent Program at GE Capital, Delhi
and has created course curriculum and trained voice coaches in almost all
of the leading call centres in India including IBM,American Express and
Lehman Brothers.
During 1996-2010, Arjun performed extensively in America, UK, Germany,
Russia, Switzerland, France, Belgium, Austria, Australia, West Indies and Japan, both as a dancer and actor. His original plays include: The Colonial, The Convict
and The Cockatoo, performed in New Delhi & Kochi, India (2013),
Adelaide Fringe (2012) and Northcote Town Hall, Melbourne (2011);
Ecdysis: The Snake Sheds its Skin, performed in German, English and Punjabi, commissioned for the European Culture Capital Festival, Linz Austria (2009); A Terrible Beauty is Born, a play about Indian Call Centres with selected performances at Dancehouse, Melbourne (2011), Zurich Spectacle (2006), Echt Cologne Festival (2006), MIT Boston and Yale (2005), and Vienna Festvochen (2005); and The Magic Hour, a Kathakali/Shakespeare play with selected performances at The National Art Gallery, Canberra (2012), Kyoto Institute, Japan (2007), BMW Edge, Melbourne (2006),andKampnagelFestival,Hamburg,Germany(2003).visualizza meno
