During and after World War II, he moved as a correspondent through the Philippines, Korea, Japan, Manchuria, Siam, India, Italy, and France. His longest stop was in Japan, where he covered the war criminal trials in Tokyo, and spent much time observing the occupation forces and the people of Japan.
La Cerda’s journalistic career ran through many newspapers before he joined the Bulletin. He began on the Knickerbocker Press in Albany, New York, and had worked on the Albany Evening News, the St. Louis Star-Times, and the Chicago Times. He is himself a veteran of World War II, having served as an instructor with the Air Technical Training Command at Atlantic City, New Jersey.visualizza meno
