The four years of study gave her an opportunity to sharpen her writing to include flash fiction and nonfiction. When she took a job as a proofreader, she had a chance to polish her revising and editing abilities. In April, 1999, she received a Diploma for completing a two-year refresher Course of
Study in Writing/or Children and Teenagers. She also took and finished an internet course on writing picture books, further improving her way of writing. Lilia wrote three short stories that were published in the Sacramento News & Review in 1995 and 1997; submitted an untitled piece/fiction that was published in Straight from the Heart ezine in 2001; wrote a nonfiction article that was published in the Pocket News in 2000, and a poem, A Tribute to Graudates, published in 1998; three of her essays were published in internet magazines: About.com in 1999 and WriteAtHome E-Newsletter in 2000. Lilia's fiction, nonfiction, and some of her poetry have been published in Writing.com, Faithwriters.com, WriterAdvice.com, Fanstory.com, HubPages.com, WiseGeek.com, TinyLights.com.
