Dr. R. (Rod) K. Heitschmidt grew up on a North Central Kansas farm. He graduated from Paradise High School in 1963. He received his B.S. (1967) and M.S. (1968) from Fort Hays State University, Hays...visualizza altroDr. R. (Rod) K. Heitschmidt grew up on a North Central Kansas farm. He graduated from Paradise High School in 1963. He received his B.S. (1967) and M.S. (1968) from Fort Hays State University, Hays, KS. Thereafter, he served as a USAF T-38 Instructor Pilot at Laughlin AFB, Del Rio, TX (1970 - 1974). He received his Ph.D. (1977) in rangeland ecology from Colorado State University, Fort Collins, CO. He served as a rangeland scientist at the Texas A&M Research and Extension Center near Vernon, TX from 1977 to 1990. He then served as Research Leader and Superintendent of the 55,000 acre USDA Agricultural Research Service’s Fort Keogh Livestock and Range Research Laboratory near Miles City, MT. He retired on December 31, 2006. He is married to his high school sweetheart, Sue. They are parents of two sons.visualizza meno
