Tra le sue braccia, Kristy Langley saldamente cullò la sua piccola figlia Emilia. Li accolse una luce azzurra, tetra, proveniente da illuminatori posti sotto le griglie del pavimento mentre varcarono insieme il portellone della nave.

Kristy cercò di stare costantemente vicino alla figlia il più possibile, quindi quando raggiunse la cabina di comando, adagiò la bambina delicatamente in una culla che teneva lì apposta. Trafelata affrettò ad accendere il supporto vitale, è dopo controllò i sistemi di spinta e regolò al minimo l’attività degli stabilizzatori inerziali. In questo modo il drone avrebbe eseguito la procedura di decollo senza fatica. Attraverso l’ampia vetrata ad alveare, Kristy fece un cenno con la mano a Zaen, il padre di sua figlia. Lui ricambiò il gesto e avviò la procedura di decollo.
